Rapport is thrilled to announce their upcoming London to Dublin Charity Cycle Challenge, where a dedicated team of 12 ambassadors will pedal 597km from West Lea School in London to the Down Syndrome Ireland office in Dublin, raising vital funds for their charity partners.
On the 20th of September, a team of Rapport ambassadors will embark on an epic 597km journey across England, Wales, and Ireland, as part of Rapport鈥檚 ambitious goal to raise 拢30,000 for charity this year.
The funds raised will directly benefit the students at West Lea School, enhancing their educational experiences, and support Down Syndrome Ireland in providing vital services to individuals and families.
The cycling team comprises 12 dedicated Rapport ambassadors, including Front of House ambassadors, Team Leaders, Managers, and Managing Directors. Dirk Talsma, Rapport鈥檚 Managing Director will be leading the charge. Each team member has been training hard over the past few months, balancing their daily responsibilities with intense cycling preparation. Their commitment to this cause is truly inspiring, as they are determined to make a tangible difference in the lives of those supported by Rapport鈥檚 charity partners.
The Cycle to Inspire initiative was officially launched by Dirk Talsma at the Rapport Excellence Awards in April 2024. During the launch, Dirk announced that he would participate in the challenge if a main sponsor was secured by the end of the night. In an exciting turn of events, a generous sponsor stepped forward on the night, sealing Dirk鈥檚 commitment to the challenge.
Rapport is in the early stages of their fundraising campaign, aiming to raise 拢30,000 by April next year.

鈥淒espite my Dutch heritage, I do not cycle frequently. In fact, you would typically only catch me covering short distances on an electric Lime Bike in London.
Therefore, I was not planning on joining this challenge but instead was planning to support and cheer on our very brave Rapport Cycling Champions. However, when a very generous member of the audience offered 拢5,000 in sponsorship, in exchange for my participation, I had to admit defeat.
I have since purchased an endurance road bike, along with all the other equipment and have commenced training. I hope that this cycle from London to Dublin, and the money that we raise will bring positive, lasting change to the lives of those we support.鈥

鈥淚t is an absolute honour to support our charity partners, especially having had the privilege to mentor one of the West Lea students when the partnership first started. It is incredible to see them blossom and thrive within Rapport!鈥

鈥淚 love multiday cycling challenges and doing this with like-minded people, for two great causes鈥 that鈥檚 all the inspiration I needed.鈥

鈥淎s a young child, cycling was a great way for me to keep active, explore, and establish a connection with nature. My cycling experience is unique because the bike was the only form of transportation available when I was growing up on a farm! I鈥檓 so excited because I鈥檝e never experienced anything like this! 鈥
