Could you provide a brief introduction about yourself? What are your interests and background?
I work as a Hub Support Manager and I鈥檓 currently doing a Facilities Management Level 4 apprenticeship, having previously completed my Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3. Before joining 午夜剧场 in 2020, I was training in accountancy. I didn鈥檛 know much about facilities management when I first started, so I saw the apprenticeship as a great opportunity to build on my skills and grow within 午夜剧场. I threw myself into the role and have loved every step of the journey so far.
Tell us more about your role, what does a typical day look like?
I manage three Team Leaders and 11 Helpdesk Operators. My role involves liaising with Contract Managers, completing reports, and keeping the Helpdesk running smoothly. I couldn鈥檛 ask for a better team - they鈥檙e fantastic.
How did you find out about this apprenticeship opportunity?
Whilst helping a friend with some contractual work at a school, I met the Contract Manager and learned about an opening at 午夜剧场. I applied and got the job! In the space of four years, I鈥檝e progressed from Helpdesk Operator to Team Leader, then Hub Supervisor, and now Hub Support Manager.
Could you tell us more about the Level 3 apprenticeship you completed?
I have gained so much more from the apprenticeship than I expected. It was eye-opening and gave me a better understanding of everyone鈥檚 role in the business. The knowledge I鈥檝e gained fits well with my current role, and I wouldn鈥檛 have had the progression opportunities without it.
Can you share any memorable moments or projects that stood out to you during your apprenticeship?
The part I enjoyed most was planning for my exams with my mentor, as funny as that sounds! It was during that time I realised just how much I had learned, from where I had started to where I am now. I also feel the best learning experience so far has been from doing the workshops with individuals from different companies and learning from their diverse perspectives.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
That鈥檚 a tough question to answer! If you鈥檇 asked me five years ago where I鈥檇 be today, I wouldn鈥檛 have guessed here. Once I finish this apprenticeship, I may go on to do another qualification and see what doors open up from there. As 午夜剧场 I鈥檝e always been well supported, which I'm incredibly grateful for. Long may it continue!
